  1. Sorry to say but this was simply a below average short movie.but it does try.

  2. In the 40’s and 50’s they were not into historical accuracy. The railroad ties were used ties and not new untreated ties. The US Capitol dome was not completed until the end of the Civil War but was completed in this movie. There was a barb wire fence parallel to the Railroad. Barbwire fences did not exist before the war. Kansas does not have high mountains. The couplers that link the railroad cars together in this movie did not exist at the time of the war. Still, I enjoyed the movie and the actors of yesteryear.

  3. Ran true to form with no surprises. OK but no cigar for this one. Just no-brainer Sunday afternoon fare. Any train movie is usually fine with me. My grandfather was superintendent of the Erie car shops in Kent, Ohio, where I live. I love the railroads with fond memories of the big steam engines’ whistles in the night. Thanks!
