  1. The umpteenth time I’ve seen this grade A -grade B movie. It’s a WW2 flick with an
unashamed patriotic theme plus lots of Harry James, the Andrews gals, Dick Foran (as good as Nelson Eddy), some comics of the day, and great jitterbuggers. A perfect way to spend an hour.

  2. Wallace Lyverse

This movie is a treasure, a real 1942 time capsule.

  3. I’m glad you liked it Wallace!

The lighter side of the war; a step into the 1940s world of popular music. The songs we listened to on “Your Hit Parade” on Saturday night when my parents went to the movies or to play bridge. Lurking in the background, though, is the coming death and dewstruction of the battlefield from which so many woud never return. The ugly reality of war. This is a well-done movie; it says a lot. It is more than just entertainment but I am not sure that today’s audience would see it as I do.
