  • Summary:   Ever wondered what it would be like to live on a secluded island, away from civilization as we know it? Robinson Crusoe is the man who makes that dream come true by creating the new New York on an island in the middle of nowhere. And if that's not reason enough to watch it, this movie is the only one that has ever shown a model of 52nd Street and Park Avenue carved into the jungle!

A good South Seas yarn. Seems to be somewhat of a popular genre at the time. There was one, “Goona Goona” a 1932 exploitation movie filmed on Bali with bare-breasted girls referred to in the hype as Goona Goona girls. I am not old enough to have seen the film. Perhaps I saw some clips of it somewhere along the way. Hollywood dollar chasers did their creepy best to take advantage of the more open dress requirements and mess up the island culture, making money peddling sexuality with no consideration for the islanders’ well-being. “Mr. Robinson Crusoe” was a clever film; a great screenplay written by someone with a vivid imagination, and well acted. Thanks!
