Life at Stake

…wisecracking lines, some good action, you will enjoy “Life At Stake.” One question – why didn’t Keith Andes become a bigger star? He was as good as any of the name smart-assed private eyes. Lansbury is a treat for all eyes. This movie is recommended – highly. Barrouse A good movie but that fine music score was worthy of a film with a bit more class. BellaMia Good movie. Worth watching. Teddy Great little movie well worth the watch… Worth more th…

The Man Who Cheated Himself

…ts to divorce her husband because she believes he is only after her money. frank roberts If you like a really good suspense-filled murder mystery, check out “The Man Who Cheated Himself.” The concentration is on story and characters, so there is not too much action. But, you will not be disappointed. This is an under-rated edge of seat thriller that includes a question mark ending. Acting is excellent with Jane Wyatt in an unusual role, Lee J. Cob…

Texas, Brooklyn and Heaven

Carmen Vega CUTE MOVIE frank roberts Heck with the so-called plot. Just relax and really, really enjoy this nutty pic. The “Texas, Brooklyn and Heaven” stars – Lynn and Madison are a delight and the rest of the cast, some of moviedom’s best character actors really make this movie. Maria very cute movie!! How fun to see William Frawley before I Love Lucy 🙂 Louis Toscano I like the movie with its recurring theme song. Does anybody know who sang it…

Port of New York

…eat, great thriller. The story was excellent mean druggies, almost contemporary. The fights looked authentic, the music was excellent and not overbearing, and the acting was top of the line with Yul Brynner as the gang boss – frighteningly frightening. Arthur Blake as the cowardly Dolly was a highlight. I very, very highly recommend this. Also, I was born and raised in NYC and the location shots were great. I give this a 10 PLUS!!! DALE R This was…

Airborne

…I hadn’t seen “M” in many years. As a story, it holds up well and, Peter Lorre’s performance is exceptional. Later, he became a shadow of himself. The story of a child killer hits close to home these days. It is frighteningly current. When his sentence seems light, the people are ready to lynch – the same people who later approved Hitler’s actions going in the same direction. An ok movie , I guess this was aimed at being a recruitment film, maybe….

Paradise Isle

…music, Lovely Movita out Lamour’s Lamour. My main reason for watching is Warren Hull. In the late ’40s I was stationed in Nome and he was the only entertainer to visit. He brought his Vox Pop program there, along with starlet Vanessa Brown, who was a Quiz Kid. Again, I can promise you will enjoy, except for a not too good soundtrack near the end. See it. Elizabeth wonderful I love the music. I always have and I will find my cd with the music that…

The Bigamist

…h one I look at 9 stars, thanks a lot for sharing them. Phil Very good film frank roberts Anything involving Ida Lupino and her husband, Collier Young, is worthwhile and then some. The plot? Will it be Lupino or Joan Fontaine? What a choice. Edmond O’Brien must choose. “The Bigamist” is a quality tear-jerker. The climax? Not what you may have expected — or is it? What makes it tough is that both women are very much alike. If you have romance in yo…

Captain Scarface

…title sounds like a Geo. Raft movie, but it was the ever reliable Barton MacLane who led the way, followed by an ever reliable cast of b-movie guys and gal. (It would have been nice of they spelled Ericson’s 1st name correctly). This is a one set movie – a ‘nana boat, yet) with a who-the-heck is the bad guy plot that will keep you guessing. Bottom line: Good b-movie flick. One question remains. Who the hell ate all those bananas?…

Kid Monk Baroni

…the lines, the action – everything is crazy-funny — no let up. All the performers are perfect in this Monogram movie directed by Wm. Beaudine. I guarantee, I will see this again and again. Don’t miss it. Maria This was great! Funny, adorable, good message. Just fun to watch. I would definitely watch this again as previous poster stated! DALE R. Words said to the heart of a fighter after losing the way you fought holds its own victories, and thou…

Inner Sanctum

norman Wonderful old film, liked the blond. frank roberts “Inner Sanctum” was a childhood friend. This was one of several of their mysteries brought to the screen, and it is a good one – tight and taut – grade B or not. And, check the twist-y ending. B movie vets of the era abounded, including the always lovely Mary Beth Hughes. Another mystery is why Charles Russell never became a big star. bnwmovies.com Charles Russel was alright. How about “Be…
